Paige earns MVP honors

After an illness limited his playing time in the state tournament in March, Marcus Paige is making up for lost time in May. This weekend the talented point guard prospect from Linn Mar High School helped lead his Martin Brothers 16's AAU squad to the title at the Bill Hensley Memorial Run N' Slam Tournament in Ft. Wayne, IN and earned MVP honors in the process.

"We played pretty well this weekend," Paige said on Sunday evening. "It was a very good field and it meant a lot to win the title this weekend playing against such good competition."

The now 6-foot guard was also named the Most Valuable Player of the 16's age bracket.

"It was pretty special to get the recognition, but it is really a team award because we played well all weekend."
