Elliot Williams is a High Priority Target
Less than an hour after Tennessee's season ended last week in San Antonio, Bruce Pearl told reporters in the Alamodome that he was going recruiting. It's a safe bet that one of the names the Vols' head coach had rattling around in his head was that of Memphis junior sensation Elliot Williams, from St. Georges' School.
Williams (6-foot-4, 175 pounds) surfaced as a major target for Tennessee's 2008 class early in the winter, and the Vols are now part of a crowded field chasing the versatile scorer.
He entered this past basketball season on the radar with a lot of programs after a solid summer with his M33M Ballers program, but he really got everyone's attention with a junior campaign that saw him average 22 points per game and take his game up a notch in several areas while leading his team to the runner-up finish in the state tournament.
