Frease puts X on top
For the past two years the breakout player at the Nike Hoops Jamboree has been a center from Stark County Ohio. Last year it was Kosta Koufos and this year it was Kenny Frease. Frease parlayed that excellent performance at the Jamboree into an invitation to the NIKE All-America Camp.
"I need to start hitting some more hooks shots. I am usually able to hit hook shots, turn around jumpers, threes, and elbow jumpers more than I am right now. Right now I'm just not shooting too well. I need to get used to these hoops and just get used to playing against so much faster competition. You have to shoot or pass," Frease said about his performance at the camp.
While Frease didn't play as well as he had hoped, he did have a reason why. Frease injured his hand earlier in the summer and has been struggling to shoot the ball. However Frease would not make any excuses. "It's not real bad unless it gets hit real hard on the top of the hand or something like that. It's only a little reminder pain anyway; it's not that big of a deal."
