Jones receives first national offer
Anthony Jones is right where he wants to be heading into his junior season, back on varsity playing for the Yates Lions with big-time national recruiting attention coming his way. Jones was a starter for the Milby varsity as a freshman, but decided to transfer to Yates for his sophomore season. Due to UIL transfer rules, Jones could not compete for the Yates varsity team last season, which was bad news for any junior varsity team in the Houston area. Jones returns to varsity competition next season and the gyms will be littered with college coaches.
While major college programs from around the country are already recruiting the class of 2008 prospect with vigor, Arizona made the first scholarship offer to the talented lefty.
Even with the attractive offer from the Wildcats, Jones is keeping an open mind and remains interested in Texas, Tennessee and Oklahoma
