Odom talks about Vanderbilt visit
Russ Moore and Jesse Johnson
VandySports.com How was your visit to Vanderbilt? It was a really good visit. I actually didn't know very much at all before I went down there and it definitely opened my eyes to a lot of different things so I'm really glad I took the time to go down there.
Was your trip to Vanderbilt an official or unofficial visit? It was an unofficial.
Do you have plans to visit Vanderbilt officially? I am definitely interested in it but with all the dates lined up, we have to figure that out if we can make it back down.
Do you see yourself playing the 3 or 4 in college? I think with my skill set I definitely see myself more as a 3 than a 4.
What's the one thing you think you do really well on the court and what's the one thing you need to improve on to take your game to the next level? I definitely shoot it really well, that's my biggest strength. I have NBA 3-point range. I need to improve on being more aggressive both offensively and defensively. I think that will make me a lot better player.
Did you have an official host and did you get to meet the players? I really enjoyed my visit. I got a chance to play with the guys and they are all really good players. I think I played really well with them. I got a chance to see how they play. I got a chance to watch some tape and see how Coach Stallings coaches and he is a very good offensive coach and that is very appealing to me. Lance Goulbourne was my main host.
Will distance be a factor? Well I go to boarding school right now so that wouldn't be a determining factor for me.
Are there any schools that are standing out to you at this point? I'd say it's pretty much even at this point.
Do you have a timeline of when you want to make a decision? I hope to make a decision in early October.
