Local five-star keeps Bulldogs in the mix
The position Mississippi State needs help at is inside.
The Bulldogs have had a five-star power forward in their own backyard but getting him back to Starkville could be a problem with offers from some of the top programs in the country coming in.
Latavious Williams is attending his second prep school since finishing up at Starkville High School in 2008.
"I was up in (Washington) D.C. but I left because my coach left," Williams said. "I went on down to Houston, Texas and Christian Life. It's good down in Texas. It feels like home. Everybody is good and we treat each other like brothers."
The 6-foot-7, 195-pounder said he is still interested in coming back home to play for the Bulldogs.
"There is an offer but I haven't been talking to the coach," Williams said. "I'm interested if they would come to me and talk to me but until then it won't happen. I haven't heard from them since last month."
Right now, Williams has five schools after him the most in Baylor, Memphis, Florida State, Kansas State and Marquette.
