Self was on hand for Ellis debut
For Perry Ellis, the expectations couldn't be much higher. Despite being a freshman, the 6-foot-8, 198-pound small forward from Wichita (KS) Heights High School is expected to be the next great hoopster to come out of the state. In the first game of his high school career, which took place last Saturday night, KU head coach Bill Self sat courtside to watch what many consider to be the top player in the class of 2012. Playing your first high school game in a small gymnasium is one thing. However, doing so as a freshman is front of thousands of people, including the head coach of the defending National Champions, is completely different.
