All smiles for Dawkins

Devils Illustrated Chesapeake (Va.) Atlantic Shores Christian guard Andre Dawkins was the first to commit to Duke out of the 2010 class. Soon after, Dawkins took it upon himself to help the Blue Devils land two of his close friends Joshua Hairston and Tyler Thornton. Dawkins' assertiveness and desire to help build his class was exactly what the Duke coaching staff had hoped they would see from the talented young guard.
Despite not having played a consistently significant role over the summer on his AAU squad, a Boo Williams team in which Dawkins played up a division on the 17Us, Dawkins felt more than comfortable taking on a leadership role with the class. This characteristic is one that often gets overlooked in the media due in part because of his youth and limited playing time on a stacked team throughout the summer.
