Senior safeties deep for State
Not many teams in the country can match the experience Mississippi State has in the secondary at safety.
The Bulldogs return four safeties with a combined 120 games played and 57 career starts.
"We've got some guys with some experience," said defensive coordinator and safeties coach Charlie Harbison. "You can't really beat guys with experience because it allows you to do some different things."
Three of the returnees have been playing together for three years in seniors Derek Pegues, Keith Fitzhugh and De'Mon Glanton.
"We all kind of hang out together," Fitzhugh said. "We have a good relationship together. We feed off of each other.
"It's pretty cool. Everybody has a different personality just about the same ability. The first couple of years we played with Jeramie Johnson. He was a great guy and had a knack for the ball."
