Nelson in Oregon State's sights
They may have been hired a little too late to make an impact in the Class of 2008, but you better bet that Beavers head coach Craig Robinson and his staff are working hard on the Class of 2009. Adding players who can score is always a plus and that's why one young man getting plenty of attention from OSU after this spring is Roberto Nelson. The strong 6-foot-4, 190-pound guard from Santa Barbara High School in Southern California has been lighting it up on the AAU circuit so far - but he won't take all the credit for all the success.
"I love the team I play with and I've been hitting shots, but it's really not me," Nelson said. "We've got a great big man and it takes the pressure off me to score. So I've just been hitting open shots. But I'm trying to work on my ball-handling and become more of a point guard. I'm working on that and my defense."
