Melquan Bolding on the open market
It looks like Melquan Bolding is back on the open market. Bolding had originally committed to Louisville, but the program no longer has a scholarship to offer him. Louisville asked Bolding to join the program as a preferred walk-on and pay his own way for the 08-09 season. Sources have told OnTheBluff.com that Bolding will not attend Louisville, and he is now looking at other schools.
Bolding is reportedly interested in Duquesne, Temple, and Cincinnati.
Duquesne fans should be familiar with recruits who are in this position. During the 2007 off-season Damian Saunders had committed to Marquette but was left without a scholarship and eventually joined the Duquesne program. Saunders had a fantastic season for the Dukes and was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team.
Duquesne has a bevy of talented guards in the program but a player of Bolding's ability would be a welcome addition to the Dukes.
