Auburn commit has good junior season
Auburn offered Peachtree City (Ga.) McIntosh power forward Robert Chubb before his junior season and the standout didn't waste much time committing to the Tigers last September.
Shortly thereafter, the 6-foot-8 big man went to work on the hardwood. Chubb played his first full varsity season this year after missing half of his sophomore season with a broken wrist.
McIntosh head coach Jason Eisele said Chubb really started coming into his own after the first couple of weeks.
"I think he started a little slow but I think that was more a function of him gaining confidence," said Eisele. "Once he turned that corner, probably five games into the season, he started playing some pretty good basketball.
"The biggest thing that he improved on is slowing down his game a little bit. Once he realized that, I'm not going to say he was unstoppable, but he did a good job finishing around the basket."
