Pearl Lands Big Piece of Recruiting Puzzle
Two weeks ago Tennessee hosted what most observers would term the most important basketball recruiting weekend in the program's history. On Thursday, the Vols got their first indication of how things went that weekend with the news that California swing-man Renaldo Woolridge has committed to Tennessee.
Woolridge (6-foot-8, 205 pounds), from Harvard Westlake high school in Los Angeles, chose the Vols over Georgetown and USC.
The No. 59 overall player in the Rivals.com Class of 2008, Woolridge is ranked as the No. 10 small forward in the nation, and his length and athleticism should be a perfect fit for Bruce Pearl's aggressive, up-tempo style of play.
The man who has coached Woolridge for the past three seasons, Greg Hilliard of the prestigious Harvard Westlake program, thinks that his players' choice will fit him like a glove.
