Virginia Tech's basketball team picked up some much needed help on the inside earlier today. The Hokies landed a power forward out of the Tar Heel State for the 2008 recruiting class.
"He talked to coach Greenberg this afternoon at about four o'clock," Donnie Livengood said, Hamptonville (N.C.) Starmount power forward Victor Davila's legal guardian. "We had visited up there and Virginia Tech was one of the early school to start recruiting Victor.
"I think they came in even when he was in ninth grade. They are good people and we kind of developed a trust and relationship with them. He liked the campus and they have one of the best academic support people in the country. That's not to take anything away from anybody else; there was not a bad school or bad people. Everyone we met was professional coaches, universities and program. It just came down to the right fit for Victor and where he wanted to be."
