Here are the highlights of our Q&A last night with junior forward Derek
Elston from Tipton High in Indiana. Sunday night he became IU's first
commit from the junior class (2009).

Q - How good was it to get that big decision behind you?

DE - I feel relieved not having to deal with things, the phone calls, it
just feels really good.

Q - When did it hit you that you wanted to make this announcement?

DE - It was probably Saturday after the visit. As soon as I left the
campus I told my mom, I said 'mom, is this okay? That this is the spot for
me?'

Q - What were the other schools involved of late?

DE - Purdue, North Carolina and I was starting to pay attention to
Tennessee. They had just started to take an interest and I liked that a lot. And
Virginia was another big one that I was really thinking about.
