Practice Notebook: Dawgs Moving On
The pain of Saturday's 16-12 loss to South Carolina was still evident following Monday's practice at the Woodruff Practice Facility, but running back Thomas Brown said the Bulldogs are determined to look ahead and try not to dwell too much on the past.
"We're not going to really feel good until we win a game," Brown said. "It was tough loss. We didn't expect it at all, but we fought hard. We're going to regroup, put that loss behind us and focus on Western Carolina."
Defensive tackle Jeff Owens agreed.
"We're moving forward. In our minds, we still control our own destiny, pretty much," Owens said. "We're just looking to the future."
Meanwhile, Brown scoffed at the notion that Saturday's loss lay at the feet of quarterback Matthew Stafford, who after the game blamed himself for the defeat.
"That's ridiculous. He knows he made mistakes in that game, just like everybody else did," Brown said. "The loss was not him. It was a team effort. We're going to rebound from it."
