After making an unofficial trip to Indiana over the weekend, 6-foot-7 forward
Derek Elston had seen enough to make an early decision on his college future.
The junior called the Hoosier coaching staff last night and made a verbal
commitment to attend IU starting with the 2009-10 school year. Elston is
Indiana's first commitment from the Class of 2009.

This morning Tipton High School head coach Travis Daugherty confirmed the
news that has already begun to leak on the internet message boards. His
junior forward Derek Elston is going to play his college basketball in
Bloomington.
