Witherspoon waiting until spring
Why rush it? That is the mindset of Georgia wing Wesley Witherspoon. The 6-foot-7 prospect from Berkmar High School in Lilburn, Ga., has a number of schools on his list and all of them will have to wait until the spring to sign the four-star prospect.
Witherspoon was one of the most productive players at his position over the summer and proved himself against his peers at the Nike Peach Jam and the Nike Global Challenge in July. The Rivals150 member said he is happy with his play over the summer.
And the schools lined up to see him do it all, too. Witherspoon said he's considering Fresno State, Clemson, Georgetown, Syracuse, Illinois, George Washington, Oklahoma, Bradley, LSU and North Carolina. Everyone except North Carolina has offered a scholarship, he said.
Witherspoon has been to George Washington and Texas before unofficially. He has yet to set up any visits or trim his list. There is one destination that he'd like to get out to in the fall though.
