Kenner Report: Tombs vs Colonials
July 8th, 2007 - Yesterday at Georgetown University's McDonough Arena, Jabbo Kenner League action was in full swing. Squarely in focus was the Tombs - a team populated heavily with G'Town's incoming frosh along with two key returning veterans - and Colonials. Though the latter, which is comprised of student athletes from a disparate group of schools including George Washington, Morehouse, JMU and UMBC, held a six point lead with under five minutes to play, Tombs ultimately prevailed 67-65.
The player responsible for cutting Tombs' deficit to four with a dunk, Chris Wright (23 points), would also seal the game with a long pull up jumper, with 2.5 seconds left. During his first Kenner outing, the incoming G'Town frosh was offensively aggressive, including showing the Hoya faithful his prodigious ability to blow by defenders, thereby wrecking havoc on defenses.
