Before they were household recruiting names whose every moves were monitored by Kentucky fans on a 24:7 basis, eventual McDonald's All-Americans like Patrick Patterson and Jai Lucas were just typical wide-eyed youngsters trying to establish their reputations on the AAU circuit.

This weekend may have given us a glimpse of some potential names on future UK recruiting boards as the state 15-and-under AAU championship drew an impressive group of talent to the Kentucky Basketball Academy in Lexington.

The adidas OBC Patriots captured the championship on Sunday with an 82-74 victory over the Kentucky Hoopstars. Both teams featured a number of good prospects in the freshman and sophomore classes, particularly the winning OBC squad.
