Patterson: 'I went back and forth'

CatsIllustrated.com One of the most drawn out recruitments in recent basketball history ended in one of the shortest announcements you could imagine. After more than a year of agonizing over his college choice, Patrick Patterson took all of 20 seconds to end the drama.
Patterson was going to be a Kentucky Wildcat. At 3:43 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, after the roar of 200 to 300 onlookers at Huntington (W.Va.) High School subsided, the heralded power forward signed his name to a National Letter of Intent with the Cats. The signature ended one of the most fascinating recruiting sagas many recruiting gurus could remember.
In the end UK's proximity to home - it's a two-hour drive from Huntington to Lexington - broke a stalemate between the Cats and Southeastern Conference rival Florida.
