Gordon To Be A Bruin
In a major surprise, Drew Gordon announced this afternoon that he will join Jerime Anderson and Malcolm Lee as UCLA commits for the class of 2008. Washington was thought to be the school in the driver's seat throughout the recruitment, but Gordon has opted to give a pledge to Ben Howland and the Bruins.
Gordon had narrowed down his list to five finalists including the Huskies, Cal, Duke, and Arizona along with UCLA. The 6-foot-8, 235 power forward from San Jose is a consensus top 25 player nationally and the bruising and athletic inside presence the Bruins needed to find in the class of 2008.
"I am excited for the recruiting phase to be over for me, and I can't wait to get to UCLA even though I have another year of high school," Gordon said. "I want to thank all of the schools who were interested in me.
