Tucked way down in southern Illinois, it has taken awhile for word to get out
about basketball prospect Brett Thompson from Vienna High. But you'll
eventually get noticed when you're nearly 7-foot tall and college coaches have
been ringing his phone off the hook since they were able to starting calling
juniors this month.

Now most of those coaches are getting their first live look at the fast
improving center.

Last month Vienna coach Rick Metcalf told Rivals.com that his big center had
12 offers on the table from Division I programs. That list included
Purdue, Indiana, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Missouri
State, Southern Illinois and Bradley.

On Sunday Thompson added that he has offers as well from St. Louis and
Illinois State and has already worked in unofficial trips to both programs.
