Mata nursing hip
If playing without star point guard Darren Collison wasn't enough, the Bruins had to play the first half against West Virginia with an injured Lorenzo Mata. It was that injury that held Mata out of the second half denying the Bruins one of their best defenders in the paint. BruinBlitz.com and the media was able to get a few moments with the Bruin center yesterday after the press conference.
What challenges does winless in the Pac 10 Arizona State bring to the table?
Mata: "Well we don't want that first win to be against us. So we have to do everything possible to not let that happen and listen to coach and just take care of our individual assignments."
How is the hip feeling?
Mata: "It is feeling much better now I should be able to go hopefully but it does feel better."
When did you hurt it?
Mata: "I have no idea. I just woke up in the morning and it was hurting. I tried to go and I didn't try anything but during the game it just got aggravated more and I couldn't run in the second half."
