In-state schools battling for Harris
Mississippi State hosted the No. 1 team in the country on Wednesday and several elite prospects were in attendance. On that listed was nearby New Hope big man Rashanti Harris. Harris claims two in-state offers this point and has visited both campuses. He gives his thoughts on his most recent trip.
While early commitments have become the norm in basketball recruiting, Harris is just a junior and has a lot of time before he has to make a decision. Many schools are still in contact, while two have officially offered.
"I'm still hearing from Arkansas State, Ole Miss, Auburn, Tennessee, and I got something from Florida, UConn, and Kentucky," he said. "I got offered from Mississippi State and Ole Miss, them two."
Harris is being recruited by Robert Kirby from Mississippi State and Michael White from Ole Miss and is averaging 15.9 points, 4 blocks and 15 rebounds so far during his senior campaign. At 6-foot-8 where does he expect to play and where does he want to play?
