Versatility gives Brey multiple options

Last season, the Irish often relied upon the three-point shot to win games.

Early this season, the Irish experienced success by dumping the ball down low to freshman Luke Harangody and junior Rob Kurz.

Sunday night in the Verizon Center in Washington D.C., the Irish used the three-point shot, a couple of point guards in the backcourt simultaneously, and just one big man-Kurz-in the lineup.

"There are a lot of different ways we can come at people," said Irish head coach Mike Brey three days after Notre Dame's stunning 81-74 victory over No. 23 Maryland in the BB&T Classic.

"The neat thing is I see it registering with them like, 'Man, we can play a lot of different ways.' (Tuesday) in practice, we got around to that lineup that got it done for us on Sunday, and they're pretty confident."
