ISU caps '07 class with shooting guard

CycloneReport.com Iowa State capped its 2007 men's basketball recruiting effort with a whirlwind visit, offer, commitment and signing on Wednesday, the last day on the early signing period. Shooting guard Charles Boozer from Tarzana (Calif.) Stoneridge Prep is the fourth and probably last official member of the Cyclone recruiting class of '07.
Boozer is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound wing that can play a little small forward but is really a natural two guard. He was a full qualifier out of Leesville Road High School in Raleigh (N.C.) but did not have any Division I offers as a 2006 prospect. So he went the prep school route and reclassified to 2007 and the move paid off.
Boozer previously had offers from three mid-major programs: Illinois-Chicago, Pepperdine and Lamar. He might have gained more high major interest had he stayed on the market until spring as Boozer is expected to have a big year for Coach Mike Mahoney at Stoneridge.
