The second trip did the trick. Junior point guard Julius Mays of Marion, Ind., High committed to the Pack Thursday over offers from Indiana, Southern Illinois, Cincinnati, Xavier, Western Michigan and Ball State. Purdue and Dayton both had high interest in him as well.

Mays, as reported on the State of Basketball premium board, was in Raleigh for the Red-White game Wednesday night. He visited Cincinnati Tuesday. Marion High is on fall break this week.
