A&M gains ground with Jones, but rival still leads
Even though the early signing period for the Class of 2007 is still several weeks away, many schools are focusing on prospects from the Class of 2008. With Midnight Madness events kicking off the college basketball season last weekend, many high school juniors took advantage of the occasion to check out a few programs on their radar screen for next year's signing period.
That was the case for Houston Yates forward Anthony Jones. The 6-foot-10, 190-pound athlete made the short drive up to College Station to witness the largest Midnight Madness celebration in the country last weekend.
Jones has scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Texas, Baylor and Arizona among others.
