Kansas guard weighs options
As the final buzzer sounded, Tyrel Reed walked off the court with a smile after leading his KC Pump N Run squad to another victory. Rivals No. 58 ranked player in the class of 2007 put on a display worth remembering in front of fans, and coaches, scoring 28 points in the victory. Jayhawk Slant caught up with Reed after the game.
After Friday night's victory, fans all over the gym were talking about Reed and teammates Travis Releford, and Conner Teahan. The three local stars dominated the overtime session to take home the all-important first win.
Reed's list includes big time programs such as North Carolina, Kansas, Wake Forest, Illinois, Purdue, Georgia Tech, Virginia, and Stanford. Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas State have also been in contact.
Coaches from those schools were on hand Saturday morning to watch KC Pump N Run's game, including Skip Prosser (Wake Forest), Tim Jankovich (Kansas), Bob Huggins (Kansas State), and Jeff Capel (Oklahoma). With so many schools calling, Reed has yet to determine a leader.
