Who is the Top Minnesota Prospect?
Minnesota has five potential high major 2007 seniors that participated this past week at Adidas ABCD camp in New Jersey. The hometown Gophers have picked up a commitment from Al Nolen Jr. and are willing to give a scholarship to big men Cole Aldrich or Trevor Mbakwe if they would at some point decide to be Gophers. The team is short scholarships but would also like to add Jon Leuer and/or Blake Hoffarber to their roster if possible.
The Gophers are in a bit of a pickle with their scholarship situation. They had two to give for the season and one was given to Nolen a year ago and he accepted. They had planned on having another but with the play of former walk-on Jamal Abu-Shamala the past season, they gave him scholarship for the rest of his freshmen year as well as his sophomore year.
