The Birth of a Superstar?
Oklahoma has had its fair share of NCAA basketball talent developed within its high school gymnasiums, but it has never been known as fertile recruiting grounds for collegiate programs. As time carries forward the youth in the state are leaving college coaching staffs drooling halfway through the AAU Summer basketball season.
The talk has always been about Oklahoma City (OK) Putnam City guard Xavier Henry since he set foot in the Putnam City gymnasium. To find the top player in the state for 2009 one may want to turn their gaze southerly towards Norman, Okla. guard Terrence Boyd. Not only is Boyd being talked about as the top prospect in the state, but some consider him to be one of the top five sophomores in the country.
This early in the recruiting process colleges are not allowed to contact Boyd, but he has already taken a liking to a few schools including Illinois, Florida, Syracuse, UConn, Maryland, Oklahoma, Kansas State, and Texas.
