The entire coaching staff have been given the task of filling a depleted roster that has only 4 returning scholarship players returning from a team that went 21-13 last season and were within one game of making it back to Madison Square Garden for the final 4 of the NIT.

The Bearcats lost 4 starters from last years team that combined to score 54 points, grab19.7 rebounds and dished out 9.3 assists per game last season. The only starter returning is Cedric McGowan who started all but one game last season (McGowan did not start on senior day) and was the team's second leading rebounder averaging 7.2 rebounds per game as well as averaging 8.5 points per game. McGowan has already been named captain for next season and he will be relied upon to provide leadership both on and off the floor for the Bearcats as he is the most seasoned veteran that returns for UC.
