Athletic wing emerges as Arizona prospect
One of the biggest surprises of the Las Vegas Easter Classic a week and a half ago was Darrington Hobson, a 6-foot-7, 180-pound small forward from Calvary Baptist Christian in Pacoima, Calif.
Hobson showed up with the SoCal All-Stars, a team filled with a group of kids that will be household names for college basketball fans in just a few years. Not many people knew who Hobson was two weeks ago but they certainly do now.
While Rivals.com ranks Hobson as the 51st best player in the 2007 class, he wasn't considering so many big time schools when he committed to Wyoming as a 2006 recruit. Now Hobson is decommitted, reclassified and ready to get a decision out of the way before long.
"Wyoming wasn't the spot for me," Hobson said. "I talked to my family and everyone knows I could go somewhere bigger and play for a good coach that's going to take me to the next level."
