Track and football both big for Allen

TheWolverine.com Most recruiting fans are well aware of Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep wide receiver Devon Allen's exploits on the football field. A junior campaign during which he caught 44 passes for 844 yards (19.2 yards per catch) and 14 touchdowns has caught the eye of college coaches, and the 6-1, 190-pounder has picked up scholarship offers from the likes of Ohio State, Stanford, Michigan, and most recently Illinois and Indiana.
Allen's speed is apparent from his gaudy yards-per-catch number, but it's borne out even more on the track, where Allen is also an elite sprinter. At the recent Arizona State Championship, he won titles in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, with times of 13.58 seconds and 36.94 seconds, respectively. He also was narrowly edged out in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, coming in second but just one-hundredth of a second in each event.
