Michigan State picked up the first basketball commitment for the class of 2012 when Medina (Ohio) forward Kenny Kaminski selected the Spartans over a group of finalists that included Indiana, Ohio State, and Wisconsin.

Kaminksi was getting ready to play in a game at the AAU nationals in Orlando with Indiana Elite shortly after rumors of his commitment began to circulate. SpartanMag.com confirmed by text with the talented junior-to-be that he had in fact made his commitment to Michigan State as planned.
